Arteba is coming

Next month -from November 4 to 7- we will have the opportunity to enjoy the 30th edition of the arteba fair. The meeting will be held in the La Boca neighborhood, at Arenas Studios, and with new authorities at the Foundation that gives life to this fair. Its president, Larisa Andreani, affirms: “After last year's listening process and observing new social behaviors, we agreed that the best thing for this year was to hold a different fair. A fair that is a party, with art at the center of the scene, with outdoor spaces to unite, meet again and with different proposals that appeal to very diverse audiences. All this while preserving the quality and standards that made arteba one of the most important fairs in the region. This year, the year of 30 years, we will be in La Boca, near the port, a place with its doors always open, ready to welcome”.

After the institutional crisis that meant the resignation of its president just two days after taking office, the most important fair in the country returns in person, in addition to various virtual activities promoted from its platform and its social networks. Far from the classic installation in Rural de Palermo, this year it moves to the south of the city, to the Arenas Studios in La Boca, an impressive industrial space that arose from the recovery of the old facilities of the Italo Argentina Electricity Company, to charge of generating energy for the Port of the City of Buenos Aires. The complex is located in La Boca, District of the Arts, just 15 minutes from the city center and just 5 minutes from Puerto Madero.

There we will be able to enjoy with more than 500 artists who will present the galleries selected by the Committee made up of Alejandra Aguado (Head of Heritage of the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires), Rafael Beltrán (director of Piedras Galería, Buenos Aires), Manuela Moscoso (curator of the Liverpool Biennial 2021, Berlin), Diego Obligado (director of Diego Obligado Galería de Arte, Rosario) and Nahuel Ortiz Vidal (director of Barro Arte Contemporáneo, Buenos Aires).

Meanwhile, on their social networks you can enjoy some "Time Capsules" dedicated to remembering awards and projects from previous years, such as the RED Project coordinated in 2004 by Ana Martínez Quijano, in which the RED Award was awarded to the Editorial Eloísa Cartonera for its installation "Cumbia cartonera, la más devillada", or the Program + arte, which between 2006 and 2009 stimulated the acquisition of works for the National Museum of Fine Arts, which added works by Martha Boto, Dino Bruzzone, Horacio Zabala, Juan Del Prete, César Paternosto and Nicola Costantino, among other artists. At the same time, from its web platform we will witness online conversations focused on Argentine art and the latest trends in the art market.
