San Montes XIII

San Montes XIII (or San Montes - Antilluvia). Circa 1944 - 1950.

Ink. Measurements: 12.2 x 18.6 cm. (4.8 x 7.32 inches). Framed work. It is accompanied by the Certificate of Natalio J. Povarché, signed in 2005, with the title indicated above in parentheses.

Inscriptions and signature: on the back "ANTI-LLUVIA / SIDER-NOCTI / XUL" and "SAN MONTES / XIII". And third party inscriptions: it presents two seals, hardly visible, probably from his participation in art salons in La Plata.

We are facing a work in which Xul Solar works with a self-limitation with the use of color and the preference for achromats, which marks a period of its production from the mid-1940s and the beginning of the next. It presents elements related to his ideas such as the mountain and the stairs, ways for spiritual ascension.

During those years, Xul Solar presented himself in this way: “I am the world champion of a pangame that nobody knows yet: pan-chess. I am a teacher of a writing that nobody reads yet. I am the creator of a new musical technique, of a musical spelling that will allow the study of the piano, for example, to be possible in the third part of the time it takes to study it today. I am the creator of a universal language - Panlingua - on a numerical and astrological basis, which would contribute so much to making people better know each other. I am a creator of neo-creole, a language that claims the world of Latin America. I'm the director of a theater that still doesn't work… ”

Xul Solar was a singular creator at the service of the regeneration of humanity since his early adherence to esoteric ideas, which he combined with astrology –which governed his life and work- Buddhism, Catholicism or anthroposophy.
