Very early cataloging of Argentine philatelic stamps, with reproductions and historical information on the stamps, carried out by one of the great international specialists. To understand how early this work is, let's say that the first international philatelic exhibition was held in Vienna, in 1890.

Its author, Jean-Baptiste Moens (Tournai, 1833-Brussels, 1908 in Brussels), recognized as a father of philately, edited different catalogs from 1862 onwards, when he published the second most stamps in the world and two years later, the first illustrated. Moens had his business dedicated to philately and among his clients were many of the greatest collectors on the planet. On his death, the well-known German philatelist Dr. F. Kalckhoff is said to have written an obituary in which he stated: "Overall, Moens probably did more for philately than any other man in the world" (quoted by Müller -Mark).
